Based in Aberdeen, community driven skatepark TX approached Vision to help design, build and brand the re-fit of their park. Completed in February 2015 the plaza/bowl combination combined with the integrated rhythm section stands as one of the most progressive and fluid designs to date.
“Working with renowned skatepark contractors, Vision Ramps, TX have created a design that retains the key features of the original layout whilst updating and improving the remaining areas with a design that fits the customers’ demands from the research.
Long Street Line - rails, ledges, driveway/wallride running down the long side of the park giving endless street options in a spacious layout.
Central Plaza Area - hips, ledges, bank to curbs, wallrides. This area will feature “bolt-in” movable objects and be open to different interpretations depending on your riding style.
Halfpipe Section - blending the existing 6ft halfpipe and a 4ft miniramp through a teardropped corner gives the option of skating 2 separate ramps during busy periods or 1 long flowing ramp during quieter sessions. The 6ft will be semi-bowled by a pump bump between the teardrops to allow riders to pump through that corner, using the halfpipe as a bowl.
Jump Line - on the other long line features a double set of jumpboxes, giving a rhythmic jump line accompanied by a smaller pump line running alongside.
You told us what you wanted and we listened. The new park layout is built around a street inspired philosophy with an impressive array of obstacles to get creative, and something geared toward each of the 3 disciplines that the park services.
Movable objects that can be switched around and bolted into place will play a role in the layout of the park creating a versatile space that is easy to change and keep fresh.”
